Penha is a traditional neighborhood in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, belonging to the Leopoldina Zone. It borders the Penha Circular and Olaria neighborhoods.

The neighborhood has approximately 100,000 inhabitants and, as a central reference, the Penha Church, built on top of a rock formation.
There are also two shopping malls nearby: Penha Shopping, built on what used to be a vehicle parking lot, and Leopoldina Shopping, which are located respectively in front of the Guanabara and Intercontinental Supermarkets.
The BRT Transcarioca also passes through the neighborhood, facilitating access to the Rio de Janeiro / Galeão International Airport – Antônio Carlos Jobim, on Ilha do Governador and the Alvorada Terminal in Barra da Tijuca, passing through the Vicente de Carvalho metro station, where it integration with Metrô Rio.
Today, the Penha neighborhood is experiencing broad economic and social growth. Several residential and commercial real estate projects are emerging in the region. With approval in the city council, the change in the template changed drastically and encouraged the construction of buildings of up to eight floors, previously a maximum of five floors. A new urban planning package changed the construction pattern in Penha and neighboring neighborhoods. The objective is to stimulate economic recovery, which led to an increase in property prices. With this, a new commercial profile is emerging in the neighborhood.
